Ricky Ponting looked like he was on the way to a trademark innings-saving knock for Hobart Hurricanes against Melbourne Renegades on Wednesday night.

He was on 26 off 24 balls, and had just hit a towering drive for six over cover.
And then, he tried something a little bit different.

Namely, an audacious reverse sweep, against none other than one of the greatest spin bowlers of all time, Muttiah Muralidaran.
Needless to say, the result wasn't pretty.
Ponting was still the top scorer for the Hurricanes at the end of the innings, as Murali combined with Marlon Samuels and Nathan Rimmington to rip through Hobart's batting order and reduce them to a total of 9-102 from their 20 overs.
