The embattled Bombers continue to triumph in the face of adversity, remaining perfect with a 37-point victory over St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

From the moment Brendon Goddard soared to take a pack mark and goal in the opening minutes, you knew it was going to be Essendon's day.

Goddard finished with 23 disposals and a goal against his former side as the Bombers took care of business 19.12 (126) to 12.13 (85).

The former Saint was moved to tears in his post-match interview and said the lead-up to the clash had taken an emotional toll on him.

Jobe Watson was among the Bombers' best with 37 touches while Scott Gumbleton put his hand up for inclusion on Anzac Day with four goals.
