Pearce did not attend a scheduled media session and was ordered home by Roosters coach Trent Robinson.
The in-form halfback took to Twitter to reassure fans he would take the field in Sunday's decider against the Sea Eagles.
"Hey guys everything is sweet just a bit fluey will b jumping out of bed in the morning #lotsoffluid," Pearce tweeted.
The Roosters have a scheduled day off on Tuesday. Pearce is expected to rejoin the team on Wednesday.
Pearce has formed an effective halves partnership with James Maloney this season and will form a critical part of the Roosters' bid for a 13th title on Sunday.
``He's probably been their best player all year,'' Manly fullback Brett Stewart said on Monday.
Aidan Guerra, was quick to dismiss the suggestion Pearce was in any doubt of missing the grand final.
``Pearcey is all good. There's no problems there,'' Guerra said. ``It's just a precautionary thing. He'll be right.''
Pearce's flu-like symptoms represent the second time in as many weeks the Roosters' camp has been rocked by illness.
Superstar Sonny Bill Williams failed to train last Friday and was in doubt for the side's preliminary final against Newcastle on Saturday night.
