A GREAT win for the Roosters could be overshadowed by injuries to James Maloney and Michael Jennings, who were forced from the field in this afternoon's 34-14 win over the Dragons.

After a stuttering start to the season, the reigning premiers today issued a warning to all their rivals on a fabulous afternoon of Anzac Day football.

In front of a bumper crowd 38,784 at Allianz Stadium, the Roosters finished six tries to three winners to record back-to-back wins for just the second time this year.

The Roosters dominated the Dragons through the middle, and on the back of that, under fire Blues halves Mitchell Pearce and Maloney orchestrated the points.

Maloney's performance couldn't have come at a better time for the incumbent Blues five-eighth ahead of Sunday night's City-Country selection.

But his hopes of playing next Sunday in Dubbo appear no chance after he left the field in the 74th minute clutching his left shoulder.

Maloney later told Channel 9's Brad Fittler he had suffered "a grade two AC" shoulder injury.

The injury usually means between four and six weeks on the sidelines.

Jennings was also forced off late with an ankle injury and had to be assisted up the tunnel by trainers.

Maloney earlier put skipper Anthony Minichiello over for a try with a fabulous two-man cut-out pass and kicked all four of his goals.

Boyd Cordner also scored a late try in the comprehensive win over the Dragons, who slumped to their fourth loss in their past five games.

The Dragons did well to go to the break still in the game at 18-8 given they had little ball throughout the first half.

Aiden Guerra scored first in the 10th minute when he barged over on the back of a mountain of possession - and then in the 16th minute Daniel Tupou finished off a brilliant piece of opportunism.

Looking like he was going into touch, Tupou tapped the ball infield to a flying Michael Jennings, who charged clear as Dragons players stood back and waited for the scum.

But Tupou stayed alive to touch down in the corner and make it 12-0.

The Dragons hit back when Ben Creagh barged over from dummy half in the 25th minute but they continued to make hard work of it through cheap turnovers and silly mistakes.

Maloney's tremendous cut-out ball put Minichiello over for the Roosters third try.

But in the last play before the break the Dragons gave themselves a hope when Nathan Green jumped on a Josh Dugan grubber.

Jake Friend extended the Roosters lead to 24-8 when he scored a terrific solo try.

But the Dragons made a game of it again when Beale charged over in the 62nd minute and Gareth Widdop's sideline conversion reduced the margin to 24-14, before Cordner put the game to bed.
