St Kilda breathes a sigh of relief as scans reveal defender Sam Gilbert has avoided serious damage to his injured knee.

Gilbert will undergo surgery on Tuesday, but the club says there is no structural damage and that he will be out for "several" weeks and a more precise timeline cannot be ascertained until the surgery is completed.
