SO the Force can actually play a bit. Two bonus-point victories on the trot is an outstanding effort from a team that has barely secured two four-try bonus points in the last three years.
The opposition tonight — the back-to-back champion Chiefs — is obviously a step up on last week and they'll suffer greatly with the loss of the competition's form No. 8, Ben McCalman.
Still the spirit in the squad can't be questioned and it was clear to see what last week's win in Dunedin meant to them.
If they turn up with the same attitude and execute when scoring chances present — one of their great weaknesses from the last few seasons — then a shock victory over the two-time defending champs cannot be completely ruled out. Stranger things have happened.
The Chiefs, meanwhile, are riding the wave of an unbeaten season and arrive in Perth fresh off their best performance to date. The 16-point win over the Stormers was built on a hard-working effort up front and the sublime skills of a firing Aaron Cruden.
They've only ever lost to the Force once and are two from two in Perth. Coach Dave Rennie has been full of praise for all of Australia's sides this season so there's no chance his side will take their opposition lightly.
Raging hot favourites they deserve to be but while this match looked a blowout just three few weeks ago, it may well now be the clash of the round.
